A report published in the US has revealed that more than 5,000 COVID-19 vaccine recipients suffered various side effects. About 2.3% recipients of the Moderna and Pfizer-BioNTech vaccines were examined. The major side effects were pain at injection site, fatigue, headache, and muscle pain.
Are the vaccines safe? Safety issues are on the minds of many as the vaccines are being distributed in the US and other countries around the world. However, it is important to note that no vaccine is completely free from side effects.
When are vaccines getting to Nigeria? Nigeria’s health minister, Osagie Ehanire, has said the country signed for advanced market participation in Covax which means the vaccines would arrive in January. He said the type of vaccines to be purchased would depend cost, effectiveness and the availability of storage facilities.
