France, Germany, and Italy are the latest counties to suspend the administration of the Oxford-AstraZeneca coronavirus vaccine, Axios reported on Monday. This comes after last week’s blood clots reports in recipients of the vaccine.
What has happened? Four severe blood clot cases were confirmed by a medical review in Norway, while there were deaths in Austria and Denmark.
Last week, President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice President Osibanjo received their first doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine, prompting safety concerns in the country. However, Mohammad Ohitoto, Head of National Primary Healthcare Public Unit, said, in a statement, that no recipient in the country has experienced similar side effects, but further clinical trials were underway.
